Lingerie party — crisis over what to wear — help!?

I’m going to a (girls only :) ) lingerie party tonight. My intention was to wear a black bra, thong, stockings & garter set. But I’ve just been talking to two friends who are also going. One says that she’s going to be wearing a corset, the other says she’s bought latex lingerie for the occasion.

So I’m worrying that everyone at the party will be wearing fairly exotic lingerie and that I’ll be underdressed (no pun intended).

The only lingerie I have that is even vaguely “exotic” is a red basque/thong/stockings set. The basque is open cup — my breasts would be on display. Do you think that is daring enough or should I go further? I could maybe accessorize it by wearing handcuffs (just cuffing my hands in front of myself), or alternatively by wearing a set of nipple clamps. Or should I buy something entirely new?
Interesting how those who find the idea of a lingerie party weird or thought it was a joke are all male: guys, you have *no idea* what goes on at all-girl parties…

You don’t want to be the worst, but not the best, either. Think about what women want to see you in. Is all that really female friendly? Dress it down to be safe, not up, you don’t want to show everyone up or be the best dressed there. Your breasts exposed, that is a little weird, most women would not like that. Keep all those parts covered involving nipples unless it is an accidental nipple slip.

Bridal And Wedding Lingerie: Before The Gown Goes On

Many brides put a lot of thought and consideration into their wedding dress. What about the wedding lingerie that slips on before the dress? What you wear underneath your wedding gown is as important as the dress itself. Carefully chosen wedding lingerie does more than look good at the end of the day, it enhances the outer appearance of the dress throughout the event.

Bras, girdles and hosiery all contribute to the overall effect by smoothing out everything underneath to make your dress appear flawless. Why wear run-of-the-mill underwear when you could wear sexy bridal lingerie? Don’t worry about comfort, either. Sexy doesn’t mean itchy or tight-fitting. If you choose a bridal lingerie set that fits right, you’ll be comfortable all day long.

Let’s take a look at a few of the key components for your wedding lingerie:

The Bra

It’s a fact: Most women don’t have a bra that fits properly or even know the proper way to be fitted for a bra. We’ve all suffered through bras that are too tight or too loose, or the cups are too big or way too small. The straps slip and the under wires are uncomfortable. In general, an ill-fitting bra has the potential to be as much of a torture device as anything the Spanish Inquisition could dream up.

Start by going to a good lingerie store. The saleswomen helps guide you in finding a bra that fits properly. They teach you how to take the proper measurements and find the styles of bras that flatter your particular form. Designers are well aware that women want decorative bras and want comfort too. You’ll have many styles to choose from.

Girdles

Girdles may have fallen out of fashion over the years, but they do play an important part in your wedding lingerie. A girdle helps to smooth out all the errant curves and form them where they belong to enhance the fit of your dress. Fit is important. Get the right measurements and you’ll have a garment that’s comfortable and flattering.

If you choose pantyhose, make sure the waistband isn’t so tight that it shows through the dress. This is where the girdle helps smooth out a sharp division at your waist. If you go the garter belt route, don’t go cheap. Clips on the cheap garter belts might slip. You don’t want your stockings bagging around your ankles during that all-important first dance as husband and wife.

Before closing the sale on the wedding dress, take some time to put together well-fitted wedding lingerie. Make sure everything is snug and relaxed. It should fit with the wedding dress and should be discrete enough that it saves some of the surprise for later. The right bridal lingerie can make all of the difference in terms of the overall comfort and style of the special day.

There are so many different styles out there, do your research, feel comfortable and most of all enjoy every second of looking forward to your big day, it is after all the most important day of your life.

Having a candy/fake sushi themed lingerie shower & more ideas!?

I am throwing a lingerie shower next month and the bride loves sushi and desserts. So, I am going to make the ‘candy’ sushi to serve. I have a couple of receipes (rice krispie treats, sliced up little debbies, cream cheese mint ‘wasabi’) but I was wondering if anyone had tried any other something.

I am also looking for some Asian-inspired nibbles to go along, too, so there will something savory to go w/ all the sweet.

Thanks!

How to Make Candy Sushi

Do you need an idea for a creative dessert? How about making this treat that looks like sushi but is made entirely of candy? It incorporates Western sweets with a traditional Asian art form. Use some creativity, this picture, and pictures of real sushi to create a tasty dessert.

Steps [edit]Sushi #1 [edit]Place a strip of Fruit by the Foot (or a thin strip of Fruit Roll-Up) on your working space.
Place a Swedish fish in the center.
Cut a mini-donut in half and place this on the Swedish fish.
Wrap the ends of the Fruit by the Foot around the fish and donut.

Sushi #2 [edit]Wrap a strip of the Fruit by the Foot around a marshmallow.
Place the marshmallow on its end.
Cut a jelly bean in half and place it on the marshmallow, inside facing up.
Cut some small pieces of liquorice so that they look like small balls or fish eggs and place them around the jelly bean half.

Sushi #3 [edit]Using a knife, carefully carve a hole in the middle of a marshmallow.
Thread some liquorice through the center of the marshmallow.
Wrap a strip of the fruit roll-up around the marshmallow.

Tips [edit]Use some strawberry, caramel, or chocolate syrup like soy sauce.
Make Thai Sticky Rice (Below) and use in place of the marshmallow or mini-donut.
Make Rice Krispies Treats and use in place of the marshmallow or mini-donut.
For an icebreaker, you can try setting this up on a platter containing real sushi to see if people can spot the difference.
Incorporate real icebreaker mints to offer a sour flavoring component to these cute desserts.

Things You’ll Need [edit]Fruit by the Foot or Fruit Roll-Ups (preferably green)
Mini powdered donuts
Swedish fish
Pull and Peel licorice
Marshmallows
Jelly beans
Strawberry, caramel, or chocolate syrup.
Knife

Thai Sticky Rice [edit]2 cups glutinous (sticky) rice, soaked in cold water for at least one hour and drained
1 1/4 cups coconut milk, canned or freshly prepared
A pinch of salt
2 Tblsp. of sugar
In a saucepan bring to a boil: rice, coconut milk, salt, sugar and 1 1/4 cup water. Stir. Lower heat and simmer, uncovered, about 8-10 minutes until all the liquid is absorbed. Remove from heat. Cover and let stand 5 minutes. Transfer rice to a steamer or double saucepan and steam 15-20 minutes over boiling water, until rice is cooked through. Mold the cooked rice into a 1/2 inch thick square and cut into shapes for recipe.
