Would you attend a wedding if there was a dress code?

Say it’ s your best friend, and he/she wanted to have a formal dress code, meaning no flip flops and no bare legs or feet. Meaning that even if you wear a long dress, that your legs and feet must be adorned with some sort of hosiery. Would you simply wear a pantsuit, or proclaim as a proud fashion slave in your right mind that “no, I will not look like an “old lady”for you!” What would you do?
