What kind of material goes into making a silk or satin kimono robe?
I would like to have a silk or saten kimono as a robe for around the house, but i’m 6 ft 2 inches. I would like to it to be very long. There are none sold in my size and to have it custom made would be ver expensive (i think). So i’ve decided to do it myself.
I’ve found a pattern to sew, but i need material. Does anyone know what kind of satin, or silk goes into making lingerie negliges? That’s the texture i’m going for. Also, where can I get it.
Does anyone have any ideas.
Just walk into any fabric store or dept store that has a fabric dept and tell them you want to look at silk and satin material for a neglige. Then pick out the color or print you like and always purchase a little more than you need, in case of mistakes, or if it is at the end of the bolt and there are only a couple of yard left, buy them, you can always make something with the leftovers if not needed. But better not to have them run out, and then need some more.

Me & my friend are in charge of the secret santa this year. we decided to have themes for all the presents and were trying to think of some good ideas for example a couple of the ideas would be like
day one aka “you whore” and the gifts would be gifts like lingerie
and day two aka “i made it myself!” and gifts would be homemade items like cookies, a scrapbook, or a knit scarve
could you give me any ideas for themes, and gifts to go with them, points will be rewarded!!
LOL that is such a cute idea!!! hmmmm you could do like a “Bon bon” day like chocolates and cookies and cupcakes maybe, umm you could do “Knock Knock!” and people could bring funny books, gag stuff, like the fake pill stuff, fake lottery tickets, and if it’s all girls which I’m assuming from “You whore” day lol you could have “Makeover” and they buy their favorite make-up ummm what else what else if I think of more I will definitely post more oooohhhhh! I just thought of one umm “Favorite store” bring a gift card to your favorite store
I have a red sort of “chiffon-y” top, gathered at the bust with lingerie straps and then it’s kind of fitted with a handkerchief hem, lined with polyester fabric. I want to wear it with black pants for Christmas but I’m not sure which style…I have some black knit pants that are flared at the bottom, but because of the fitted style of the top, the “bumps” of the fly and pockets on the pants show through the top. Is this OK? Any suggestions?
i think it will look great with mini black skirt and high boots reed or black
